Our customized and creative week-long Vancouver summer camps focus on helping students with learning differences develop new skills through fun, hands-on camp programs with high instructor to camper ratio.
Students going into grades 3 to 6 are the best fit for our camps. If you’re not sure of an age or ability fit, please start by filling out an application form and we’ll discuss it with you in a follow up call (in 1-2 weeks).
Parents/guardians will need to complete an an intake interview for their child.
Camps are held at our spacious indoor location that is adapted to ensure dedicated personal space and supplies for each child. We also use surrounding green and parkway space.
Our East Vancouver Learning Centre is at 3292 East Broadway.
Camps run the following weeks:

August 6-9 (4 days)
Additional one-to-one support is available during the summer.

Campers get creative and explore the many exciting ways to tell stories through written word, oral histories, plays, graphic novels, poetry, online storyboarding and more. [My daughter] LOVED the camp workshop week [storytelling] she had with you guys. She was excited to go every day. She even ate her entire lunch, which she never does at school. We have been doing comic sheets together since then. So thank you!Parent of a Grade 3 Summer Camper
[My son] truly enjoyed his time at the LDS camp, he asked me every day not to pick him up early and constantly spoke so highly of the instructors!Mother of Grade 4 Summer Camper
My child can’t wait to come to camp each morning. The inclusive environment that LDS creates allows my child to express themselves and feel confident with who they are and one where they don’t feel judged or excluded. We are excited about LDS and can’t wait for Fall 1:1 instruction where my child can continue to grow and feel confident.Mother of a Camp Grade 5 Student
Thank you so much! I am emotional right now because I have never seen [my daughter] this way, how happy she is during the camp. Actually, during our prayer time, she always mention how grateful she is going to LDS. She always have a story to tell soon as I pick her up from LDS. With these 2 weeks that she won’t be joining, she feels sad and that she will miss you guys! I can’t thank you enough. One day, I will be able to give back to the organization. God bless you all!Mother of a Camp Grade 6 Student
My daughter enjoys the program and she said the instructors are very nice. Thank you for giving my daughter the opportunity to experience this educational camp. I am looking forward to her improvement and confidence in learning.Parent of a Camp Grade 5 Student
Why our Camps are the best
Our Vancouver summer camps follow the same high standards as our tried and tested one-to-one instruction. Our Research-Informed Individualized Student Education (RISE) program draws from collective expertise to customize a program for your child, wherever they are in their learning journey. We apply these standards to our summer camp programs, where each group will be no larger than ten students.
Our two camps include key learning principles for students with suspected or diagnosed learning differences in the following:
- reading, processing, writing, written expression
- computation and problem-solving
- executive function/self-regulation, organizational and time management skills
Each day includes fun indoor and outdoor activities that build on the summer camp themes and encourage teamwork, personal health and safety, social skills, outdoor exploration, and playing games. Every student will receive focused assistance on projects within the summer camp (e.g. writing tasks, science investigation tasks).
Our LDS team provides instruction during camp. Our instructors are highly trained and experienced in teaching students with learning differences. Camp mentors assist with group activities.
All camp staff have criminal record checks (or equivalent for minors who are camp mentors), training in working with vulnerable populations, and first aid training.Top 10 reasons LDS camps are the best
Camps are engaging, educational, and convenient for working families.
