Still Left Out

Children and youth with disabilities in BC are still being left out. The latest report from the RCY (Representative of Children and Youth) is alarming – families waiting years for support and feelings of no confidence to receive services for their children. Momentous work still needs to be done to support individuals with a wide variety of disabilities, including learning differences, from the early years into early adulthood.

This report is a great place to begin if you want to dig deeper into updates on what the RCY sees happening. You can learn about what progress is and needs to be made.

Are you involved in advocacy for your child or youth? Where are you seeing positive changes? What is the most significant change you want to see?

As First Nations children’s advocate Cindy Blackstock states, “Children only get one childhood. Fix it today.”
