Program Description

The Dyslexia Index is a brief dyslexia screening tool that assesses the risk of dyslexia. It is a composite of the Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement, third edition (KTEA-3), which is a Level B academic assessment.

The report can be an especially useful tool for families advocating for learning accommodations at school and can indicate the need for further testing or support.

Assessments take place during the day to minimize cognitive fatigue. We recommend having a slow morning with a good meal before coming and a fun treat afterward!

The Dyslexia Index timing is dependent on each learner. Assessments are booked for two hours, but take approximately twenty to thirty minutes to complete. Guardians are encouraged to stay in the area or our lobby.

Please note that the Dyslexia Index is not a substitute for a formal psycho-educational assessment, as it does not assess cognitive performance.

Cost

  • Our sliding scale is applied to this assessment.
  • The Dyslexia Index is $225.
  • The Dyslexia Index and the Academic Assessment (KTEA-3) together are $475.
