Removing barriers with translation support
Our team is actively removing barriers for families so everyone can access the learning support they deserve and need. One of the ways we are doing this is by drawing on the diverse language skills of our team. We can proudly serve families in over twenty languages.
This linguistic diversity allows us to remove barriers for families that require translation support. For instance, one team member recently assisted a new family during our intake process. The family was able to ask questions and confidently share about their child’s needs, ensuring that we could match this student with the best possible instructor to support their learning.
Currently, LDS has team members who are proficient in the following languages:
- American Sign Language (ASL)
- Cantonese
- Croatian
- French
- German
- Greek
- Hindi
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Mandarin
- Ndebele/Zulu
- Persian
- Portuguese
- Punjabi
- Russian
- Shona
- Spanish
- Turkish
- Urdu
While we are pleased to support families with applications, intake, case management meetings and other updates in these various languages, our one-to-one instruction and other programs are only available in English at this time.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if your first language isn’t on the list. As our team continues to grow, we may have new members who can offer support with translation in additional languages. We will continue to find ways to communicate effectively and ensure your and your child’s success.
