Psychoeducational Assessments

Psychoeducational Assessments can have significant waitlists and cost barriers; our referral partners and funders are helping us overcome those barriers.

Who

Psychoeducational Assessments may be of benefit to any learner with suspected learning differences who are seeking further comprehensive evaluation to understand their learning profile or receive formal diagnoses. Our referrals are for school-aged children, youth, and adults enrolled in our programs.

Where

Sessions will take place in clinics in the Lower Mainland of Vancouver. The exact clinic location is dependent on the referral partner.

When

Partnerships and referral spots are confirmed on a rolling basis throughout the year; therefore, the dates are varied. Please note your interest with your Case Manager as soon as possible.

What is a Psychoeducational Assessment?

A psychoeducational assessment, often called a “Psych-Ed” assessment, is a comprehensive evaluation of an individual’s cognitive, academic, and psychological functioning.

A Psych-Ed is the diagnostic tool for “Specific Learning Disorders” which is the technical name for Learning Differences (“LD”). Completing a Psych-Ed is the only way to be formally diagnosed with common LD’s like dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia.

Program Description

Through various partners including University of British Columbia’s Psychological Services and Counselling Training Centre (PSCTC), Dr Candice Murray, and Simon Fraser University, combined with our own fundraising, we have established referral pathways for Learn. Develop. Succeed. learners to receive affordable psycho-educational assessments.

Reach out to your Case Manager or the manager of the program you or your child is enrolled in to register your interest, and your referral will be passed on to our Assessments Coordinator, who will reach out if and when a space is available.
