Program Description

The Small Group Instruction Program provides targeted academic support in a neuroaffirming group setting. Students are placed in small, grade-based cohorts and receive focused, explicit instruction in reading, comprehension, written expression, or math. Each learner is carefully matched with others in the same grade. There is a maximum of three learners per instructor.

Sessions are designed to build both skills and confidence. Through peer learning strategies, students engage in shared problem-solving, give and receive feedback, and learn alongside peers in a supportive environment. Instruction is strengths-based and inclusive, helping reduce stigma and normalize diverse learning profiles.

Each session also includes support for self-regulation and social-emotional learning, with practice of skills such as listening, turn-taking, flexible thinking, and peer support.

We are currently running our first cohort of Small Group Instruction. We will open up registration for the fall in early May. Please register your interest below.

Program Details

Who is the Program For?

This program is a good fit for students who:

  • Benefit from learning with peers at a similar grade level
  • Need targeted support in specific academic skill areas
  • Are building confidence and independence as learners
  • Would benefit from structured opportunities to practice social and collaborative skills
  • Learn best in an inclusive, neuroaffirming environment
  • Do not require one-to-one support to participate effectively in a group setting

How Is This Different From One-to-One Instruction?

Our RISE One-to-One Instruction program focuses on highly individualized goals and pacing. Small Group Instruction emphasizes collaborative learning and peer interaction while engaging in explicit instruction in educational focus areas.

In this program, students learn with and from one another as they work toward shared academic goals. In addition to academic progress, the program supports communication, self-regulation, and confidence in group settings.

Both models offer meaningful support. This program is ideal for families seeking targeted instruction alongside social learning.

Program Fees

The Small Group Instruction full fee is $75/hour. As with all our programs, this fee is on a sliding scale based on household income.

The fees above are for the initial cohort and subject to change in summer/fall 2026.
