LDS is excited to continue to increase the number of learners we work with each year. To make this happen, we are expanding physically to expand our operations and further our mission.
Our additional space is below our existing East Vancouver Learning Centre and fronts onto Rupert Street (2607). As we prepare to expand various parts of our operations and programming into our new addition, we face the challenge of furnishing this space to make it functional and welcoming for our learners, families, and team members. We need your help!
What We Need
We’re reaching out to our community to ask for donations of new or gently used office furniture and supplies that can help turn our new space into a vibrant centre to support youth and adults with learning differences. With your help and generosity, we can serve more families with better resources and, as always, at an affordable cost.
Here’s what we need most:
- Phone booths and meeting pods: Enclosed or otherwise in good working condition, such as small, medium, or large phone booths or meeting rooms like this or this, or even this.
- Office furniture: Desks, office and classroom chairs, tables (6-8ft), sofas, small/side tables, shelving.
- Tech supplies: Laptops, printers, projectors, and other technology that can aid our operations.
- General Supplies: Whiteboards, posterboards, desk mats.
How You Can Help
- Donate Items: If you have items that could benefit our organization, please consider donating them. We’re happy to help secure direct drop-off at our new location after August 1.
- Spread the Word: Even if you don’t have items to donate, you can help immensely by sharing our call for donations within your network.
- Corporate Donations: If your business is upgrading or redecorating, consider donating your gently used furniture or technology to our cause.
- Gift Cards or Financial Donations: If you prefer, you can also contribute by providing gift cards or making a financial donation, allowing us to purchase necessary items.
Impact of Your Donation
Every item donated helps us reduce maintenance and operating costs. You can help us focus our resources and dedication to empowering children and youth with learning differences through specialized, research-driven educational programs and services that our families need. We are grateful for any support you can offer. Together, we can make our new space a beacon of hope and transformation for those we serve. Thank you for being a part of our community and considering this request.
Make a Donation
We officially take occupancy of our new space on August 1. If you would like to make a material or financial donation, please contact julian@ldsociety.ca or phone 604-873-8139.
Every little bit helps, and we are grateful for any support you can provide.
With your help, we can create a welcoming and productive environment for our team and those we serve. Your generosity truly makes a difference!
