Funding will help provide more spots for preschoolers in innovative early intervention program

TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, and the TELUS Vancouver and Coastal Community Board, have granted $20,000 toward LDS’ effort in supporting preschool-aged children with learning differences and their families.

“This grant helps us continue to grow our Early RISErs early identification and intervention program,” said Rachel Forbes, Executive Director of LDS – Learn. Develop. Succeed. “This grant will help us continue to bring together a wide range of early childhood professionals and assistive technology to offer vulnerable families of young children a unique opportunity to develop and grow together.”

LDS raises funds to ensure there are low-barrier bursary spots in our programs for families experiencing financial and other intersectional barriers. TELUS Friendly Future Foundation is continuing their support of our bursary fund for Early RISErs for a second year, which, together with our other funders and donors, is instrumental in ensuring we can continue providing accessible, high quality programming and support to all.

“Through our partnerships with charities supporting children with learning differences, we understand the challenges these families face,” said Nimmi Kanji, Executive Director of TELUS Friendly Future Foundation. “We are proud to be able to support LDS, with a Community Board grant in order to help them change lives and learning outcomes for preschoolers with learning differences.”
