A Fair Wage is all the Rage

LDS is Now a Certified Living Wage Employer in BC!

We are incredibly proud to announce that LDS – Learn. Develop. Succeed. has been certified as a Living Wage Employer in British Columbia. This certification is more than just a title for us. It proves our commitment: We are unwavering in our support for providing long-term, sustainable, meaningful, and gainful work for all our team members.

Join us as we delve deeper into what this certification means for our team, community, and future.

What is a Living Wage?

The Living Wage is the hourly amount that two working parents with two young children must earn to meet their basic expenses after taxes and deductions.

The Living Wage is different from the minimum wage, which in Vancouver is too low to support workers. The Living Wage in Metro Vancouver is $25.68/hour, and LDS ensures all our team members are at or above this rate.

Ensuring all employees earn a living wage, we are championing a movement promoting a sustainable and ethical organizational model. It’s about creating a workplace where everyone thrives—where the success of our organization is directly tied to the success of every individual who walks through our doors.

LDS’ Commitment

Certifying as a Living Wage Employer in BC is a voluntary commitment employers make. LDS believes this commitment brings innumerable benefits to our community, our staff, and the families we serve.

In areas where A Living Wage is enforced, it is shown to stimulate economic growth. Beyond that, when people have meaningful employment, which gives them increased financial freedom, they are more likely to contribute to the communities in which they live. That is a win for everyone involved.

As part of our commitment to employment equity, diversity, and transparency, we also commit that all existing and future job postings will maintain or exceed the Living Wage in BC. We encourage partners, suppliers, community organizations, and employers across BC to promote a Living Wage for all workers.

We are excited to be part of the growing movement focused on providing fair compensation to employees across BC and believe this transition and certification will help us better serve our families and the community around us.
