About the Mural
We are proud to launch a vibrant, three-storey mural at our East Vancouver headquarters as a celebration of the neurodivergent community.
Made possible by the generosity of a donor who believes in sparking conversation and empowering neurodivergent people, Ascend reflects stories from our community, including families who describe us as the “soil” where their children are free to be their whole selves.
Our mission is to empower children, youth, and adults with learning differences to recognize their unique strengths and, build the tools for lifelong independence, confidence, and success, and celebrate them as #ProudMinds.

Artist Statement
Ascend is a celebration of growth, learning, and the quiet power of support. A bird lifts a small bear into the sky, symbolizing mentorship and the belief that with care and guidance, even the smallest among us can rise. Beneath them, a vibrant garden of wildflowers grows strong and bright, a visual metaphor for resilience, potential, and the importance of nurturing environments.
Among the flowers, a bumblebee and several white bunnies observe the scene. They represent students and community members, witnesses to the beauty of transformation. Their presence reminds us that growth is not only personal but shared. When one is lifted, others are inspired to follow.
This mural invites viewers to reflect on the environments we create and how encouragement, patience, and belief in one another can lead to collective flourishing.
