When planning for the future of your loved ones, cosider a legacy gift to LDS to provide upstream support for generations to come.
What is Legacy Giving?
Legacy giving is a meaningful way to support our mission by including LDS in your will, estate plan or financial legacy now to ensure future generations of vulnerable, neurodivergent learners benefit from your generosity.
When you plan for your loved ones’ future, you can also make a lasting impact on our community. By including a legacy gift to LDS, you help build and sustain the Bright Futures Bursary Fund, removing barriers for children, youth, adults, and families with learning differences.
How to Leave a Legacy Gift
Speak to your advisor
If you don’t have a will already, we recommend you seek professional help from an experienced legal and/or financial advisor to ensure your wishes are honoured. If you already have a will, it’s fairly simple to amend it.
Include Our Legal Name & Charitable Number
It’s important to include our full name and charitable number in your will. Without this, we may not receive your gift.
Legal name: Learning Disabilities Society of Greater Vancouver
“I give [all, a percentage, or fixed amount] of [the residue of my estate, a specific cash legacy, or specific proceeds of the liquidation of an asset] to Learning Disabilities Society of Greater Vancouver, charitable registration number 108 166 307 RR0001 (the “Society”). I request that funds be used for the highest priority need as determined by the Society at the time of receipt of funds.”
Please note that we can only accept cash or cash proceeds of assets that have been liquified by the estate; we cannot accept title transfers of real property or other assets.
Let Us Know About Your Gift
If you’ve included LDS in your will or estate plans, please let us know!
This information is kept strictly confidential and helps us plan accordingly. It also allows us to thank you for your generosity and welcome you into our community of valued legacy supporters.
Words can’t express how extremely happy and thrilled with the improvements I’ve seen in my son with every aspect of his life. He tells me what he is learning in day to day school now and is more engaged in extra curricular activities. It’s a world of difference. It may sound or seem like nothing but to me and our world, it is beyond! You can’t imagine! I could cry. Amazing 😻
Parent of a grade 4 student
She loves her sessions there and there are so many benefits tracking, from actually gaining further proficiency in core subjects to self-esteem which, in her public school career, has been seriously deteriorating. That she can come to LDS twice a week, learn, feel good about the learning, and have a relationship with an educator that is so productive means the world to her — to both of us!

Thank you so much! [My son] has had some challenges and as a pre-teen working on accepting, honouring and appreciating his own company within a group.
What a beautiful opportunity for growth and development.
I was so touched and grateful for staff support and encouragement. Thank you for being an integral part of our community and family to connect and grow together.
