Sylvia (she/her) has taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP) for over 18 years, driven by a deep passion for empowering learners to express their unique voices with clarity and confidence. With experience teaching students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, she is dedicated to crafting personalized learning pathways that build on individual strengths and needs. Grounded in research-informed pedagogy and enriched by technology, Sylvia fosters an engaging, dynamic learning environment where students appreciate their uniqueness, discover their potential and shape their own paths to success.

RISE One-to-One Instruction

Our comprehensive learning support is personalized to meet each student’s learning goals. Get support in foundational skills – literacy and/or math and school skills – executive function, self-regulation for learning, studying, homework and coursework.

Ages: 5 – 18
Where: East Vancouver & North Vancouver Learning Centres, online, on LDS Access, or at schools
Dates/Times: Monday to Friday 9 am – 7 pm, Saturdays 9 am – 4 pm
