Marisa is a lawyer with over 15 years of experience in practice across various subject areas, including public sector governance, administrative law, privacy law, and all aspects of workplace law. She currently provides neutral services to organizations as an investigator, trainer, mediator, and by offering governance support, including to local government councils and boards. Marisa has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a law degree from the University of Victoria.
 
Marisa joined the board of LDS in 2025. She supports its mission of empowering individuals with learning differences and is proud to be part of an organization that is making such a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families it serves. Marisa previously served as a volunteer director and the chair of the personnel committee for the Georgia Strait Alliance, an environmental nonprofit organization.
 
In her spare time, Marisa enjoys cheering on her two kids at their sporting events, trying to keep up with them on the ski hill, and exploring the beautiful beaches and trails of the West Coast.
