Eric (he/him) combines a strong foundation in scientific research with a drive for technological innovation and a profound compassion for humanity. Holding a PhD in particle physics, he contributed to the discovery of the Higgs boson and led the development of statistical data analysis and machine learning frameworks used by research teams around the globe.

His academic journey includes pivotal research roles at CERN, TRIUMF, and Simon Fraser University, where he specialized in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and emergent technologies to address complex challenges in high-energy physics. Eric has driven AI innovation across diverse industries, including developing large language models for legal and financial applications, diffusion models for healthcare imaging, and predictive analytics tools at Capilano University. These projects have honed his AI, machine learning, data analysis, and cloud computing expertise.

At LDS, Eric serves as Senior Manager, Technology, leading the RISE Next Generation program. This initiative integrates AI and advanced information systems to enhance learning outcomes, support teaching effectiveness, and scale LDS’s impact. Guided by compassion and a vision of leveraging technology for societal benefit, Eric is committed to building transformative systems that empower learners and educators alike. Outside of work, Eric enjoys adventuring in nature, mountain biking, and exploring the intersection of mind, body, and spirit through philosophy, meditation, and movement.
