Thank you for your interest in Summer Tutoring for 2021. Applications are now closed. Please subscribe to our newsletter for other program opportunities in the future.

Our One-to-One Instruction helps students succeed academically, and assists in building their skills and confidence in and outside of school.

In our Research-informed Individualized Student Education (RISE) Summer Tutoring program, students work one-to-one with a qualified instructor on tutoring support.

The goal of summer tutoring is to help students maintain the academic skills they acquired throughout the school year, and gain further independence and confidence to jump start the new school year! Students will receive one-to-one tutoring support with a qualified instructor who will determine your child’s learning goals and the pacing of instruction.

Summer tutoring will be held from 5th July – 27th August with sessions running between 9am-5pm, Monday – Friday.

Please note LDS Summer Tutoring will only be available online via RISE at Home.

Please note, the application form will submit your interest. Once the form has been submitted, you will be contacted with next steps.

What you get as part of our one-to-one tutoring support

Here are some key features of our one-to-one summer tutoring.

  • Intake screening call for new students.
  • One-to-one tutoring by experienced, specially trained instructors on school subjects including reading, writing, mathematics, science as well as foundational skills like phonics and spelling. Instructors may draw from our curricula options and from the BC curriculum.
  • Instructor can support with general subject matter, note-taking, and study skills.
  • Following each session, you will receive a report in TutorCruncher, our student management system, outlining the learning activities and topics that were covered. LDS summer tutoring differs from our Explicit Instruction program that is run during the academic year in that students do not receive assessments or progress monitoring.
  • Learning Support Team observation and coaching of instructors.
