Program Description

The Academic Intensive provides students with intensive, individualized support to build foundational academic skills in math and literacy. Your student will benefit from our team approach with highly qualified learning support staff and our amazing team of specialized, passionate instructors.

Our team helps students who have fallen behind academically. Our intensive intervention program can serve as a buffer for the “summer slide” that affects many students!

Parents or guardians can apply for the Academic Intensive through our online application form below. After you have submitted your application, you will book an intake with an LDS team member to gather more information, answer your questions, and enroll you in the program.

Fees: We’re pleased to offer a generous sliding scale to fees based on household income. Please apply, contact us, or see the fee schedule below to learn more.

What to Expect

Before the Program

After you have submitted your application, you will book an intake with an LDS team member to gather more information, answer your questions, and enroll you in the program.

Our team will review your existing educational documentation.

Our team will conduct informal tests to inform lesson planning and create an individualized, research-based program to address your child’s learning needs. Students new to LDS will meet with an instructor for additional assessments before the program starts.

Your child will participate in either our July or August cohort.

Each student will receive 2.5 hours of instruction each day in math, literacy, or both subjects.

Our team will monitor progress and conduct informal tests to assess progress.

After the Program

Our team may make additional recommendations for enrichment activities, including potential ongoing one-to-one remedial instruction online or at one of our Centres.
